Journalism: The World of Complications and Satisfactions

The world of journalism is tricky. The fame and privileges acquire by the journalists in their professions are not easy to carry on their backs. The fame of seeing your name in any medium that can be seen by many people is a glory. The chances of seeing many places and meeting a lot of people is very much worthy of the tiredness in competeting other journalists. But pause to think of their responsibilities and the deadlines they meet from their editors. Their responsibility as ethical journalists is no joke. The Code of Journalists is not as easy to do as your read it. I can’t imagine how complicated the life of journalists while doing their field. Journalists always have to decide. It can be a head ache oftentimes to decide to do what is right, but not practiceable.
I talk here as an aspirer and observer of the practitioners. I see light at the end of the edge, but still covered with webs of questions. I learned so much from many journalism books in my journalism classes. I already met many theorists of MassCommunication. I even heard many things about being journalists from my professors who are also practitioners. I also knew stories from their experiences and got a lot of advices from them, but more than my curiosity, I am very much eager to involve myself in the complicated world of journalism. I twice mention used the word “complicated” in describing journalism and the journalists because it is how I perceived them. Other people might think that an article published in a newspaper just being published without knowing that the writer and the article underwent many criticisms and revisions. They wouldn’t mind anyway maybe because it is not interesting for them to know. I want to experience the world of journalism to personally feel the satisfactions of these complications. I want to join the struggle and competition of the journalists. Perhaps the world of journalism is covered with many mysteries that entice many journalists and aspirers to stay in the path. I really ache to do many journalistic works. I know it is not easy as I perceive it, but I am willing to take many risks.
